Jakarta, 28 November 2022 - PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa Tbk (IDX : “WMPP” or “WMP”), a business group engaged in the consumer goods and agricultural commodities sector, in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa, is moving quickly to distribute humanitarian aid in the form of thousands of food packages nutritious food for the people affected by the earthquake that occurred in Cianjur Regency, West Java.
The food aid distribution mechanism is carried out by establishing a WMP Public Kitchen Service Post to process ready-to-eat food which can distribute more than 1,000 food packages every day. No less than 150 volunteers were involved in the activity consisting of various ages and backgrounds. PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa Tbk will prepare more than 10,000 portions of nutritious food which will continue to be distributed for the next 10 days.
Through 2 (two) subsidiaries operating in Cianjur Regency, namely PT Pasir Tengah and PT Cianjur Arta Makmur, distributed assistance in the form of food products to disaster-affected communities such as processed foods in the form of sausages, meatballs, nuggets, to premium rice. Not to forget, the integrated poultry farming business line of PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk also took part by donating chicken meat products in the form of carcasses. Every day, the WMP Public Kitchen Post processes nearly 1 (one) ton of food ingredients into ready-to-eat food packages to be distributed to disaster-affected communities.

Meanwhile Heri Prasojo, CEO of PT Pasir Tengah which is a subsidiary of the Widodo Makmur Perkasa (WMP) Group also added that this distribution of assistance was a concrete manifestation of WMP Group in realizing the Company's vision, namely Providing Food for The Nation. On that occasion, PT WMP and Dompet Dhuafa directly observed the location of the Public Kitchen Service Post in the Pamengpeuk Village Refugee Camp, Cijedil Village, Cugenang District.
"As a company that has been operating in the Cianjur Regency area for decades and has become part of the life of the Cianjur people, we also feel deep sorrow and concern for this disaster. Therefore, we are moving as quickly as possible so that the assistance we have prepared can be immediately distributed to disaster-affected communities. In total, we have now prepared support in the form of 4.7 tonnes of food ingredients which will be processed into ready-to-eat food packages which will be distributed through several post points and can be consumed directly.In the days ahead our team will also continue to carry out field visits to the needs of the people in the disaster area, and do not rule out the possibility for us to provide assistance in other forms," he said.
Etika Setiawanti as Director of Resource Mobilization Dompet Dhuafa explained that the food donation through the construction of PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa Tbk's response post really helped the team in the field who acted as public kitchens in providing nutritious and quality food intake for the community. Public Kitchen services are a basic need for the community which is very important during disaster conditions, given that access to food is difficult.
“The supply of food is important considering that no one knows when an earthquake will end. What's more, there are still aftershocks that keep happening, making some people afraid to return to their homes, so disaster mitigation efforts are taking longer," added Etika Setiawanti.
At a different time, Haryo Mojopahit as Chief Executive of DMC DD (Disaster Management Center) stated, "Until the fifth day after the disaster that devastated parts of Cianjur and its surroundings, DMC Dompet Dhuafa and volunteers had carried out various response programs in the field. The programs are assessment of affected areas, evacuation of victims, recovery of bodies, health emergencies for victims and survivors, fulfillment of logistics through public kitchens and mobile kitchens, spiritual guidance and Psychological First Aid (PFA). For logistical needs, we deployed a mobile kitchen (Darling) and accommodated a public kitchen, one of which is at Al Humaediyah Islamic Boarding School, in Bejot Village, Cugeunang, Cianjur, West Java.
The WMP post also functions as a satellite post where it not only functions as a public kitchen station, but also a mobile kitchen team movement station, medical services, to field action data collectors which will be forwarded to the main post.
